Equine portraits – Magheralin Northern Ireland
These portraits were commissioned by Danielle’s Grandmother Betty at Tattersalls International Horse Trials as a gift.
The Showjumping Rosettes caught my eye when they opened the tack room. It summed up the hours spent together showjumping. The red diagonal stripe in her polo shirt connects them to the rosettes. I put an accent light on the horse to light the shadow side.
“Fields of Gold’
The light on the long grass caught my eye in the field behind her home and backlighting is my favourite lighting. Seems a simple portrait but timing the walk with the horse and the flow of the girls hair took a few attempts.
